  • A big thank you...

“Hello Rory, This is just to say a big Thank you for organizing our trip in South Africa. We had an amazing time in Cape Town: the hotel location was great, the 2 Trips with Gavin were really really nice (what a nice guy !), and finally, the airport connections were nice and smooth. We also had a blast in Jo'burg at the Clico, which was a great haven to rest after our Safari, but also had a really exquisite restaurant and very friendly staff.”

“Honestly would recommend Unearth Experience to anyone, and we have already had quite a few people asking about who organised our trip and passed on your details! We will definitely be back to Africa.”

  • Spectacular trip...

“What a spectacular trip Rory created for us! He gave such attention to detail; organized several amazing surprises, which really made the trip even more spectacular. There was definitely no shortage of pinch yourself moments on this holiday! From the moment we flew out of Sydney until we arrived back home, Rory was in regular contact with the group to ensure that everything was running smoothly and that we were enjoying our trip. He was able to plan a holiday which caught all the highlights of Africa in a limited amount of time, and gave us the perfect amount of time in each place. We could not recommend Unearth Experience more highly to organise your holiday. Thank you Rory for a once in a lifetime experience!”

  • Never been so spoilt...

“I have been to South Africa many times over the last 20 years but it was the first visit for my wife Jenny. Jenny absolutely loved the experience she ‘had never been so spoilt’!! I must say for myself that it was probably the most memorable experience. Two weeks is hardly long enough to do South Africa justice but the itinerary you put together was just right for a first visit. All the transport arrangements worked perfectly…The hotels were first class… Londolozi was wonderful - we had an excellent guide and were lucky to have some amazing sightings – I have been on many safaris in the past and this will go down as one of the best!”

  • A million thank you's...

“In the past two weeks, I've learned that you can't truly even begin to understand life when you're only focused on the human aspect of the world. A week spent in the bush connected me to nature in a way I never imagined. It forced me to understand an ecosystem far detached from my comfort zone, and the social constructs of different species that are so similar, yet so different from the human condition. Tracking wild animals on a safari is so much more than a physical pursuit. To track, you need to be present, take clues from your surroundings and venture off into the unknown. If you lose the track, you return to where it started and begin again. It's a conscious effort to utilize skill, patience and intuition to guide you into a world of unbelievable discovery. I leave Londolozi with a heavy heart but a rejuvenated understanding of how to better live. Thank you to my dear tracker Life who found all the beautiful animals for us with his superpower of sight and hearing; my fearless guide Fitz who explained everything in so much detail with vast intelligence, ease and insight; my wingman Bruce who was there when I needed a shoulder and a drinking game ally; and of course my beloved partner in crime, who brought so much love, laughter and light into this journey. Unearth Experience, a million thank you's for curating my trip to this beautiful country and ensuring I was only with the best. Quite literally, this has been a life-changing experience for me.”

Picture this…

You’re taking a refreshing dip in the False Bay waters off the Cape Peninsular Coast when a colony of African penguins’ swim amongst you in the pristine blue waters. Ducking and diving through the waters in between you and the crashing waves these relaxed penguins happily swim or waddle past you as you enjoy your time on Boulders Beach.

If waters are too refreshing for your liking, there is a great way to see the penguins from the warmth of the land on a wooden walkway which has many vantage points to witness the penguins frolicking in the ocean, sunbathing on the sandy beach or waddling up the magnificent boulder formations which gives the beach it’s namesake.

The African penguins look cute and cuddly, but please note… You can not touch or feed the penguins.

After your close encounter with the African penguins take a leisurely drive to the nearby Simon’s Town where you can enjoy a nice glass of wine and amazing seafood whilst overlooking the picturesque ocean.

You’ve heard stories, seen pictures, and had it on your bucket list for years – now it’s time to experience the phenomenon of the Great Migration for yourself!

Possibly the most exhilarating event in nature and now classified as a “Seven New Wonders of the World”, is the annual Wildebeest and Zebra Migration of East Africa. As the seasons change, thousands upon thousands of wild animals cross the Serengeti plains of East Africa towards the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in search of food and water. With no exact start or finish, the specific timing and route all depend on the rains each year.

With the rain fuelling the migration, it dictates where the herds will be at different times of the year. The yearly cycle begins in the south of the Serengeti National Park, where half a million calves are born between January and March. But when the rains end in May, the land dries fast and the grazing animals must move on in order to survive, heading for their dry season refuge in the Maasai Mara, Kenya.

As the migration moves further north, it truly sets the path for the most dramatic natural spectacle in the world – The famous Mara River Crossing. Here millions of wildebeest and zebras make their way across the river. They will be hunted, stalked and run down by the larger carnivores as they arrive at the Mara River in their tens of thousands, gathering and waiting to find the perfect opportunity to run the gauntlet.

By late October, the short rains begin to fall on the Serengeti’s plains, filling seasonal watering holes and bringing new blooms of growth, the wildebeest and zebra’s start heading back south.

This experience will give you a front row seat to the migration. With all-inclusive, luxury migratory camps specifically focusing on following the migration, it is truly one for the adventurer at heart, one who enjoys the rugged edges although still appreciates the creature comforts and enjoys the luxurious side of travel.

Due to the migration being unpredictable, please enquire for our up-to-date advice on which camps will give you the best opportunity to witness this once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon for your potential dates.

To be frank, this excursion is for the adventurer who seeks the thrill of the kill.

You know who you are! Don’t worry, we’re here for you.

Nothing is more profound than witnessing human nature take its natural predatory course. Can you picture a pride of lioness’ singling out a small buffalo on the fringe of it’s heard? Or catching a cheetah sprint across a field to narrow the life of a zebra? Or witnessing a leopard hoisting an impala up a tree? What happens after that is far greater than anything your imagination can conjure.

A guide can get you right up near the action – yes, safely – and the only thing you need do is have your camera ready. So when those lions and leopards are feasting, and that cheetah is preparing its takeout, you can crack open a refreshment and scroll through your pictures in awe, mentally preparing how you’ll relay this story to folks back home.

What do you say, bring it on?
