For that perfect African photo safari – picture a 5am wake-up call, a cup of coffee, and a vehicle outfitted specifically for your for your camera equipment. You hop on with your party and pull out into the African sunrise. When it begins, you can’t shoot fast enough. Leopards lounging in trees, their tails hanging like loose branches; a lion bends down for a drink, his pink tongue and yellow eyes reflecting atop the water; a massive heard of buffalo shuffle across a plain, a cloud of dust billowing in their wake…

These moments ebb and flow with the landscape, giving you just enough time to dip a rusk into your coffee or savour a bite of Biltong between takes. Trust in knowing your images will make jaws drop no matter your skill level, and the seconds you witness capturing them will keep you telling stories for years.

    “In the past two weeks, I've learned that you can't truly even begin to understand life when you're only focused on the human aspect of the world. A week spent in the bush connected me to nature in a way I never imagined. It forced me to understand an ecosystem far detached from my comfort zone, and the social constructs of different species that are so similar, yet so different from the human condition. Tracking wild animals on a safari is so much more than a physical pursuit. To track, you need to be present, take clues from your surroundings and venture off into the unknown. If you lose the track, you return to where it started and begin again. It's a conscious effort to utilize skill, patience and intuition to guide you into a world of unbelievable discovery. I leave Londolozi with a heavy heart but a rejuvenated understanding of how to better live.
